Spider Veins
Spider veins are the small, thread-like veins most often seen on the surface of the skin. They are formed when a tiny pinhole tear occurs in a capillary or artery beneath the skin's surface. Without treatment, these small tears will bleed and worsen in appearance. Spider veins normally appear on the face, neck, upper arms or thighs and are often characterized by small round, red spots with tiny veins radiating outward.
